Bee Experience Sessions
Thinking about Beekeeping?
If you are individually, as a couple or as a family considering keeping bees and find it all a little daunting, you can come along to a practical session to talk and walk you through bees, beekeeping and how you may wish to get going. You can also get some protective clothing (supplied) on and handle some bees under the mentorship of an experienced beekeeper.
What do we cover?
During a typical four hour session we cover:
- About bees and what's in a hive
- Can you have a hive at your home?
- Equipment needed and likely costs
- What sort of hive and bees?
- Bee handling (subject to weather)
- Printed notes, hints, tips and options for your next steps
We aim to promote successful and sustainable beekeeping and will not force any sale or follow-up on attendees.
Cost
£15 individual
£25 couple
£40 family/group (up to six)
Please note that we normally run a session with a minimum group size of four and a maximum of eight. Greater numbers can be accommodated if it is a single group.
