Support Us

Are you interested in Bees and/or want to Join In?

If you are interested in what we are doing, please sign up for our newsletter (form below). It is published each month and gives information about bees in general, our bees, project updates etc. The newsletter is free and you can unsibscribe at any time.

We run purely from donations and support to help us provide bee-related services to the community. Actual sales are priced to cover the general costs of doing the specific work but donations and support are very much appreciated to buy equipment, more bees and to spread the news about bees. Please use the form below to let us know if you want more information. An ideal gift idea for someone

If you would like ongoing information and updates, we can supply regular updates with more specific information than would be available in the usual letters. We also send out certificates, gifts and even honey to regular donors depending upon the level of support received.

It's always busy and there are some projects which are specifically set up to support the local bees. If you are interested in helping out on some projects, please let us know in the form below.

For 2018, the following projects are being scheduled

  1. Queen Rearing sessions (there will be several of these)
  2. Hive build - to create some WBC style hive outers that fit over a National hive
  3. Honey extraction sessions - you will get sticky!
  4. Complete hive inspections

to be finalised........

  1. Thermal imaging of hives
  2. Boroscope videoing of colonies

Beekeeping is a seasonal business. Work Placement opportunities are available in July and August each year. These are suitable for under-graduates and graduates seeking some volunteering experience for their CV.
